Refund And Cancellation Policy

Rentopi LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is a peer-to-peer vehicle-sharing platform that connects Vehicle Owners with Renters. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms for cancellations and refunds applicable to bookings facilitated through Rentopi. By using our Platform, you agree to these terms.
1. General Policy
Rentopi LLC facilitates bookings between Vehicle Owners and Renters but does not own or manage vehicles. All cancellations and refunds are subject to the terms agreed upon by the Vehicle Owner and Renter during the booking process, with Rentopi acting as a mediator if necessary.
2. Cancellation by Renters
a. Before the Start of the Rental Period:
- Renters may cancel their booking according to the Vehicle Owner’s cancellation policy.
- Refund eligibility and amount are determined by the Vehicle Owner’s policy and Rentopi’s service charge is non-refundable.
b. After the Rental Period Begins:
- No refunds will be issued once the rental period has started, except in cases where the Vehicle Owner agrees or where there is a breach of agreement.
3. Cancellation by Vehicle Owners
a. Before the Rental Period Begins:
- If a Vehicle Owner cancels a confirmed booking, the Renter will receive a full refund of the rental amount, excluding service charge.
- Vehicle Owners may face penalties, including account suspension, for repeated or unjustified cancellations.
b. After the Rental Period Begins:
- If a Vehicle Owner cancels a booking after the rental has started, Rentopi will mediate the situation. In such cases, Renters may be eligible for a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances.
4. Refund Eligibility
- Service Charges: Rentopi’s 7.5% service charge is non-refundable under all circumstances.
- Vehicle Issues: If a vehicle is unavailable, unsafe, or not as described, Renters may request a refund. Rentopi will investigate and determine eligibility.
- Disputes: Rentopi reserves the right to mediate disputes but does not guarantee refunds unless a breach of agreement is confirmed.
5. Processing Refunds
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the booking.
- Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, typically taking 5-10 business days.
- Rentopi is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment providers.
6. Force Majeure
No refunds will be provided for cancellations or disruptions caused by events outside the control of Rentopi, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or pandemics. Vehicle Owners and Renters are encouraged to address such situations directly.
7. Mediation and Dispute Resolution
Rentopi provides tools to facilitate communication between Vehicle Owners and Renters to resolve cancellations and refund disputes. If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, Rentopi may investigate and make a final determination. This decision will be binding.
